Our Story
Ho‘ōla Jewelry was born in one of the most challenging moments of my life. When I was diagnosed with Stage 3–4 Triple Negative Breast Cancer—an aggressive and fast-moving type with a difficult prognosis—my world shifted. As a single mom of two beautiful children, with my family far away in Brazil, I knew I needed to fight not only for my life, but for theirs. Thankfully, I was surrounded by incredible friends and an amazing community here in Kaua‘i, who lifted me with love and support when I needed it most.
At the time, I was fully immersed in my Real Estate career, a work I truly love. But as treatment began—physically and mentally demanding—I realized I might not be able to work the same way. Still, I have always been fiercely independent, hardworking, and dedicated to providing for my children. So I asked myself: What can I do? How can I create something meaningful while navigating this journey?
That’s when I returned to something that has always been a source of joy and therapy for me—creating jewelry. Years ago, I had a small jewelry line in Los Angeles, and life pulled me away from it. But during treatment, I found comfort in creating again. Jewelry allowed me to work gently, at my own pace, while still expressing my creativity and purpose. Even on difficult days, my hands could still create beauty.
And so, Ho‘ōla Jewelry came to life.
I chose the name Ho‘ōla because it means healing in Hawaiian. Though I’m not Hawaiian, Kaua‘i has become home to me. I carry deep respect and gratitude for the culture, the land, and the people who have embraced me with so much aloha. The name honors the healing I’m working toward—and the healing energy I want to share with others.
People often tell me I bring calm, light, and supportive energy to those around me. I wanted my jewelry to carry that same intention. Every piece I create is made with care, presence, and love. I use thoughtfully sourced materials—gold-filled, gold-plated, sterling silver, and gemstones from around the world. As I work, I place quiet prayers and positive intentions into each piece, hoping that whoever wears it will feel the light, love, and healing they deserve.
Ho‘ōla Jewelry is more than a business—it’s my path through this health challenge, a way to support my children, and a way to give back. Through treatment, I’ve met patients who are struggling financially or walking their journey alone. I’ve been blessed with an incredible support system, and I want to extend that love outward. That’s why 5% of every purchase is donated directly to a patient in need.
Thank you for being here, for supporting my story, and for sharing in this new beginning. Whether you choose to wear a piece, follow along, or simply hold space for hope—your encouragement means the world.
Join me on this journey of healing, creation, and connection.
With love,
Ho‘ōla Jewelry
